I recently had the experience of meeting Amma again for the second time. Known as the “hugging saint” she has hugged over 30 million people worldwide, performing miracles, curing people of illnesses, and opening our hearts. If you have the opportunity to experience darshan, don’t miss your chance to be in the atmosphere of a living saint. She will sit for more than twenty hours at a time without taking a break to go to the bathroom or eat, simply to hug those who have travelled to see her. This is her life daily, as she travels the world annually. A news reporter once stated, hugging her was like hugging “a hundred grandmothers.” One cannot help but be astounded of what exudes from this woman, who appears to have the wisdom of grandmothers and the innocence of a child. Many have not even heard of her, and yet during times of natural disasters she offers more money to charities than established countries. All that she received is given to others. Her religion is love. For more on Amma, http://www.amma.org , she tours North America every summer.
“Do your work and perform your duties with all your heart. Try to work selflessly with love. Pour yourself into whatever you do. Then you will feel and experience beauty and love in every field of work. Love and beauty are within you. Try to express them through your actions and you will definitely touch the very source of bliss.”-Amma
